HMS Adamant was completed to navy order as a depot ship.

Adamant served with the Eighth Submarine Flotilla at Harwich in 1914 and 1915. She later worked with submarines in the Mediterranean.

05-06-05-191 : Stoker 1st Class Alfred Charles Moy died in an accident. It is understood that he was killed by a train as he was on his way to join his submarine although the detailed circumstances are not known.
