Fate: May 1946 was lost whilst in tow to the breakers

 

1944 was sent to Canada for training purposes.

In October 1945, L23 was the last L boat to be taken out of service 28 years after she was laid down - thus reflecting the success of the class.

29-08-1917 : Laid Down
01-07-1919 : Launched
31-10-1924 : Completed
22-02-1943 : While serving as A/S training target ship on Canada's east coast, HMS L 23 was sent to Philadelphia, USA for a refit.
21-06-1945 : HMS L23 paid off
