The Tattooed Lady

The Tattooed Lady

To the tune of "Let the rest of the world go by"

I was only seventeen
When first I went to sea
When shipwrecked on the coast
Of France and just by chance
A woman in a boat
Grabbed me by the throat
And left me on the shore to dry

And then much to my distress
She started to undress
A map of bonny Scotland
Tattooed upon her chest
Then further down
Much to my surprise
I saw the place where Nelson lost his eye

There was a map of the Portuguese
Tattooed upon her knees
Japan and Singapore upon her thighs
I was looking for HongKong
When her old man came along
So let the rest of the world go by.
