Sieve together flour, salt and baking powder. Add the breadcrumbs, suet and currants.
Mix to a soft dropping consistency with milk or water, (not too much). Turn into a greased basin, two thirds filling it. Cover with greased paper, or pudding cloth, tying on.
Steam for 2 - 3 hours. Ensure saucepan doesn't boil dry, top up accordingly.
Serve with custard Ice cream or a sweet white sauce.
