Seal (N37)HMS Seal arrived in the rendezvous position (about 40 nautical miles east of Harwich where destroyer HMS Boadicea was already waiting. As HMS L 26 and HMS Cachalot had not yet arrived A/S practice was given to HMS Seal, while doing so a seaplane was circling then at distance of about 4 miles for half an hour. It then disappeared but returned a few minutes later and bombed them. No damage was done to either Seal or Boadicea.
Undine (N48)HMS Undine ended her 2nd war patrol at Rosyth.
Swordfish (N61)Believed sunk by mine

HMS Swordfish sailed from Portsmouth on 7th November 1940 for a patrol in the North Sea. Nothing was heard from the Swordfish after her departure despite efforts on the 15th and 16th to have her report her position. It was believed at the time that she had fallen victim to a German destroyer in the vicinity of Brest. This belief remained until 1983 when her wreck was discovered off the Isle of Wight at a depth of 150 feet. It is now clear that the submarine struck a mine shortly after sailing from Portsmouth.
Trident (N52)HMS Trident fires three torpedoes against the German minesweeper depot ship MRS 3/Bali north of the Laksefjorden. The torpedoes missed.
Unruffled (P46)HMS Unruffled torpedoes and damages the Italian light cruiser Attilio Regolo off Cape San Vito, Sicily. Unruffled could not finish off the ship since they ran out of torpedoes.
