11-09-1944 : | Torpedoed and sank the Norwegian merchant Vang off Lister, Norway |
13-09-1944 : | HMS Venturer fires 3 torpedoes against the Norwegian merchant Force north-west of Egersund, Norway. All three torpedoes miss. Venturer then engaged the target with gunfire but the submarine was forced to break off this attack as she was fired upon by German shore batteries. |
11-11-1944 : | Torpedoed and sank the German submarine U-771 in the Andfjord near Harstad, Norway. |
09-02-1945 : | HMS Venturer, commanded by James S Launders, torpedoed and sank the U-864 (all hands lost) in the North Sea west of Bergen, Norway. This is the only known incident in all of naval warfare in which one submarine sinks another while both are submerged |
