1941 | Severn (N 57) | Sank the Submarine Bianchi. |
1941 | O 24 (Dutch) | O24 missed an Italian sailing vessel with a torpedo but later on this day sank the Italian sailing vessel Margherita Madre with gunfire about 8 nautical miles southwest of Anzio, Italy. |

1942 | Traveller (N 48) | HMS Traveller attacked an Italian submarine in the Otranto Strait. Three torpedoes were fired but no hits were obtained. |
1943 | Rorqual (N 74) | HMS Rorqual torpedoes and sinks the French merchant (in German service) Nantaise in the Aegean Sea. |
1944 | Stratagem (P 234) | HMS Stratagem fires torpedoes against the German submarine U-181 in the Strait of Malacca near Penang. However all torpedoes missed their target. |
1944 | Unswerving (P 63) | HMS Unswerving damages a sailing vessel with gunfire in the Aegean Sea. |
1945 | Shalimar (P 242) | HMS Shalimar sinks a Japanese coaster with gunfire in the southern part of the Strait of Malacca. |
1958 | P 36 | In July 1958 work on salving the P.36 commenced. She was raised to the surface on 7th August 1958 and two weeks later towed out to sea to be sunk for the second and final time. |
2016 | Trenchant (S 91) | The crew of HMS Trenchant staged a ceremony in Plymouth marking the vessel’s readiness for operations. The occasion marked the submarine’s reintegration into the fleet after undergoing a maintenance and weapon and sensors upgrade in Devonport Naval Base. The submarine holds the RN submarine record for a continuous deployment of 11 months in 2013. A rededication ceremony is a traditional part of any Royal Navy vessel’s life after completing a period of refit and improvement. The event was attended by the submarine’s sponsor, Lady Meriel Hunt. |
