This was the first British submarine success of WWII.
1939 Sterlet (N 22) Arrived at Newcastle-on-Tyne where she started her re-fit at the Swan Hunter shipyard. The work was scheduled to take around a fortnight.

The submarine's arrival on the Clyde marks the beginning of a process that will see Faslane become the UK's sole operating submarine base over the next decade.
