1917 E 54 Sank the U81 under the command of Weisbach in the Atlantic under conflicting circumstances.

One claim is that U81's crew were carrying out their ablutions on the upper deck, one crew member using the bucket. Raikes is reputed to have stated ('I saved him the trouble of using toilet paper'), this has since been proved untrue.

The second claim is that U81 was at action stations because the boat was engaged in sinking a steamer when E54's torpedo struck her.

1941 Upholder (N 99) HMS Upholder torpedoes and sinks the German merchants Arcturus and Leverkusen off Kerkennah, Tunisia.
1942 P 552 Picked up 3 survivors from the Norwegian merchant Taborfjell that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-576 about 95 nautical miles east of Cape Cod.
1944 Untiring (P 59) HMS Untiring torpedoes and sinks the German merchant Siena off Port Vendres, southern France.
1945 Statesman (P 246) HMS Statesman sinks a small Japanese vessel in the Strait of Malacca.
