Tradewind (P 329)

Built By: Chatham Dockyard (Medway)
Build Group: T 3
Fate: Scrapped on 14th December 1955 at Charlestown
HMS Tradewind. It is reported that a snort mast was eventually fitted for snorting noise trials. The upper image clearly has no snort mast while the lower image appears to have a folded down mast just aft of the fin.

It is reported that she was modified to reduced submerged noise and used in ASW experimental work, running out of Portland. From photographs it can be seen the gun was removed and that a streamlined fairing was fitted around the gun access tower and the fore part of the connning tower, also it appears that all external torpedo tubes were removed. Whilst still basically a T boat in shape, she presents a smooth and clean appearance in the photographs.
