HMS Stubborn

Small and stumpy, unassuming
Typical of England's Breed
Knowing only that's she's vital
In this hour of Britain's need

Nothing fancy in her make up
Oft than not she's caked with brine
Testimony to her journeys
North and southwards, o'er the line

Cruelly though the oceans beat her
She has proved their might in vain
Treating Neptune's fierce endeavour
With a woman's proud disdain

Never knowing' never caring
Where her mission bids her go
Ever watching, ever daring
Waiting chance to smite the foe

Small she is but never minding
For her duties have been seen
Trusting only in her daring
Hail to thee, proud Submarine
