Life on a Submarine describes what life is really like on a nuclear submarine through the experiences of 4 ex-Royal Navy submariners, including former commodore of the Submarine Service, Jim Perks CBE. The film was was produced by John Rennie Creative Media for The Dock Museum's Shipyard Town Gallery and was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and BAE Systems.

Written in collaboration with the former Soviet submarine design bureaus, Norman Polmar and K J Moore authoritatively demonstrate in this landmark study how differing submarine missions, antisubmarine priorities, levels of technical competence, and approaches to submarine design organizations and management caused the divergence.
