A shallow river steamer requisitioned by the Royal Navy at Singapore in 1941.
While under conversion at Singapore she fled to Colombo and was commissioned there on 12 May 1942.
Returned to her owner in April 1946.

ptain J R Phil Wadman died in 2014. In 1966 he was appointed to command the Port Crew of Repulse, the 3rd Polaris submarine to be ordered but the second, behind Resolution, from Vickers Shipbuilders in Barrow-in-Furness. Soon afterwards, Tony Whetstone was appointed to command the Starboard crew. Together they forged an exceptional partnership which had a huge influence on every aspect of the submarine's early history.
The year 2001 records the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Submarine Service, and Antony Preston presents a day-by-day account of life in the service. In 1901, Holland One, the Royal Navy's first submarine, fitted with a single torpedo tube, was born at Vickers-Armstrong amidst great controversy, in an era when the submarine was regarded as the weapon of the weaker power
