HMS Adamant was completed to navy order as a depot ship.
Adamant served with the Eighth Submarine Flotilla at Harwich in 1914 and 1915. She later worked with submarines in the Mediterranean.

In January 1945 he was serving in the Submarine Depot Ship HMS Adamant based at Trincomalee in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). He is understood to have died in HM Hospital Ship Vita from cerebral contusion, laceration and contusion of lungs and multiple injuries received in an accident on board HMS Adamant |
