Solent was one of several boats which were modified after the war and converted into high speed target submarines for training anti-submarine forces. The hull and casing were streamlined and the gun removed, in addition to this higher capacity batteries were fitted and the motors up-rated.

The Dolphin Code has earned a solid international reputation, and is now well known within Western Submarine navies. It has even been rumoured that the late Soviet Naval Air Force used the code on occasion. The Royal Australian Navy additions were added in 1997 and serve to attest to the popularity of the DOLPHIN CODE
During World War II, the USS Haynes, an American destroyer escort discovers a German U-boat in the South Atlantic. A deadly duel between the two ships ensues, and Captain Murrell must draw upon all his experience to defeat the equally experienced German commander.
