From early 2022 to March 2023, HMS Audacious spent 403 days away from the UK on patrol in the Eastern Mediterranean. While on this deployment, she underwent maintenance periods in Souda Bay (Crete) and Limassol (Cyprus). The RN revealed that during this time divers completed a demanding repair to ballast tanks that would usually be done in a dry dock.

| 27-04-2017 | HMS Audacious emerges from the Devonshire Dock Hall for the first time. Will Blamey, BAE Systems Submarines Managing Director, said: "Today's launch marks an important milestone in the Astute programme. Audacious enters the water in a more advanced state of build than any previous Astute class submarine, which puts us in a good position for the next phase of work - the testing and commissioning of her complex systems. Designing and building a nuclear-powered submarine is extremely challenging and today's launch is yet another reminder of the unique skills required to deliver such complex programmes. It is a proud day and we now look forward to working alongside Audacious' crew to prepare her for sea trials, before she joins her sister submarines in service with the Royal Navy." |
| 16-01-2018 | Audacious achieved a significant milestone when she successfully completed her first dive. Known as a 'trim and basin dive', the event took place last week at BAE Systems' Devonshire Dock at Barrow-in-Furness. The operation saw the high tech submarine submerge fully under water for the first time, enabling the mixed Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence and BAE Systems team on board to test many of the vessel's systems. The dive was a crucial milestone as it allowed engineers to calculate the submarine's precise weight and centre of gravity. |

| 23-09-2021 | HMS Audacious was commissioned into the Royal Navy following a ceremony at Her Majesty's Naval Base, Clyde. Audacious becomes the fourth Astute-class submarine to be commissioned into the Royal Navy fleet |
| 10-02-2025 | HMS Audacious was taken into number 15 dry dock in Devonport. She arrived in Plymouth on 1st April 2023 for a refit that necessitates work on her hull but work could not begin until facilities had been upgraded. |
