Sportsman was loaned to the French Navy for anti-submarine training and renamed Sibylle in 1951.

 19-05-1943   HMS Sportsman torpedoes and sinks the French passenger ship General Bonaparte off Nice, southern France.
 26-05-1943   HMS Sportsman fires 6 torpedoes at the French tanker Marguerite Finaly off southern France. The torpedoes however miss the target.
 29-06-1943   HMS Sportsman torpedoes and sinks the Italian merchant Bolzaneto 10 nautical miles bearing 270 of La Spezia, Italy.
 01-07-1943   HMS Sportsman attacks a landing craft with gunfire in the Ligurian Sea off Porto Maurizio. The attack had to be broken off because the gun jammed.
 06-09-1943   HMS Sportsman sinks the Italian fishing vessels Angiolina P and Maria Luisa B with gunfire in the port of Al'ria, Corsica, France.
 28-09-1943   HMS Sportsman sinks the Italian sailing vessel Angiolina off Corsica.
 15-11-1943   HMS Sportsman sinks a Greek sailing vessel with gunfire between Naxos and Mykonos, Greece.
 19-12-1943   HMS Sportsman sinks a Greek sailing vessel with gunfire south of Lemnos Island, Greece.
 21-12-1943   HMS Sportsman attacks and damages the Greek sailing vessel Spiridon with gunfire south of Lemnos island.
 23-12-1943   HMS Sportsman torpedoes and sinks the Bulgarian troop transport Balkan south of Moudros, Lemnos Island, Greece.
 08-02-1944   HMS Sportsman torpedoed & sank the German POW Transport Petrella north of Suda Bay, Crete. 2,670 out of 3,173 Italian POWs where killed. German Guards did not open the POW rooms and fired at them while they tried to break out
 28-03-1944   HMS Sportsman torpedoes and sinks the small German tanker MT 3/Vienna off Monemvassia, Greece.
