E 49

Fate: On 2th March 1917 Submarine E49 left the Shetlands for patrol. As the Submarine was clearing the Balta Sound she hit a mine which had been laid by the German U-Boat UC-76 on 10th March 1917.

E49 sank with all the crew and is lying in 16 fathoms (96 feet) of water off Huney Island.
