Fate: | Stonehenge sailed from Trincomalee in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) on 25th February 1944 for her second patrol in the Far East in the area between Northern Sumatra and the Nicobar Islands. The Submarine was reported overdue on 20th March 1944 when she failed to return to Trincomalee. The cause of loss is unknown but the Submarine was declared as ‘lost with all hands’, probably in the Malacca Straits on (or about) 16th March 1944 |
