1914 HMS Pathfinder HMS Pathfinder was sunk by U-21, the first Royal Navy warship lost to submarine attack

1928 Poseidon (N 99) Laid Down
1939 Seal (N 37) HMS Seal departed Aden for her 1st war patrol. She was ordered to patrol off the southern entrance to the Red Sea.
1939 Seahorse (S 98) While on the return passage to Dundee HMS Seahorse was bombed in error by a British Anson of 233 Squadron which dropped two 100lb A/S bombs. She sustained some damage which required her to dock.

Seahorse had dived when the aircraft was sighted but her after hydroplanes jammed and depth control was lost. In the meantime two depth charges were dropped by the aircraft but these caused no damage. Seahorse then broached and her bow came out of the water. A third depth charge was then dropped but this also caused no damage. Before Seahorse was able to submerge again a fourth depth charge was dropped very close which shook the submarine severely but it caused no damage. Seahorse then went down again and hit the bottom heavily at 220 feet causing damage to her A/S dome.

The aircraft had dived so low that the explosions of the bombs damaged it seriously and it had to ditch but the two airmen were rescued.
1941 Universal (P 57) Laid Down
1942 Traveller (N 48) HMS Traveller torpedoed and sank the Italian merchant Albachiara about 30 nautical miles North-East of Derna, Libya.

Later on the same day two torpedoes were fired against a merchant vessel about 50 nautical miles North-West of Derna, Libya.
1943 Trooper (N 91) HMS Trooper sinks a sailing vessel with gunfire off Skiathos, Greece. Trooper also damages two other enemy vessels with gunfire.
1943 Unshaken (P 54) HMS Unshaken torpedoes and damages the Italian tanker Dora C. about 10 nautical miles east of Brindisi, Italy.
1944 Tantivy (P 319) HMS Tantivy sinks a merchant cargo ship off Sumatra
1944 Strongbow (P 235) HMS Strongbow sinks three small Japanese vessels with gunfire off the west coast of Siam.
